2012 has already begun for the CAI team as we continue to design, develop, and program the next generation of functional exercises with the announcement of the CAI Emergency Support Functional Exercise Program.
This new functional exercise brings the exercise participant into an Operations Center at the next Operational Period for which an Incident Action Plan (IAP) has already been written and approved. Now it is time to implement the IAP within the Operations Center for an incident that has been ongoing for hours.
As the new Operations Center relief team, you must quickly be briefed and assume all of the Emergency Support Functions that have been activated, manage the event from the Operations Center, meet the IAP objectives, and establish the next IAP for the next Operational Period while keeping the incident under control within your community.
Yet for those who have previously participated in a CAI Exercise, everything is not what it appears and issues continue to develop, both on and off the site. Can you meet the challenge in this exciting and educational exercise program?
So for a new year, the announcement of a new exercise program that will take the participant, department, agency, community, and/or corporation further than most exercises, into the meat of the event beyond the initial response and emergency phase, into real life, real event issues.
If you or your organization is interested in this exciting program, please do not hesitate to call me directly at 239-223-0348 or email me directly at Databoats@aol.com.
Sincerely,
William Ferroli Ph.D., BMCS USCG (Ret)
